GUESS WHERE WE ARE???
I haven't had a thing to blog about this past month, so we decided to change that and book a trip to North Carolina. :)
Ok, really, Jed had to work and I thought I would join him. We flew into Charlotte and enjoyed some shopping, browsing, driving, house hunting (not really hunting, but we did find our dream home), eating (of course), and exploring, and all this in SIXTY degree weather. Charlotte is a VERY nice city and the people there LOVE Jesus! (As do we, we just don't plaster it on every vehicle, street sign, and store window...although, maybe we should!?)
We attempted to bowl (Opening day was actually later that afternoon), got some very detailed instructions (including where the "potty" was) from the parking attendant and Jed experienced the best fried chicken he has ever tasted. He couldn't stop talking about it. Still can't.
As some of you may know, one of our goals in life is to have a Triple D tour (for you non-watching Food Network fans, it's a Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives tour) and we checked one more "drive in" off our list...Penguins Drive In. We had deep fried pickles, an award winning hamburger, and a WINKY DINKY DOG (I seriously couldn't tell the waitress without blushing myself) It was a grease fest!!! But, Jed and I have officially decided that food/eating is one of our best marital qualities. It's a true bonding experience. :)
We had a great little trip and it didn't hurt that we had THE BEST flying experience since moving to NYC (And, many of you know, we have horror stories about JFK that would scare you silly!) so, move over John F. Kennedy, Hello LaGuardia.

MMMMMMMM the South has good eats...did you get any Carolina BBQ? It's vinegar based, different but tasty.
I'm jealous - I loved living in NC! Next time, come a little farther south and visit us!

How were the deep fried pickles? DDD seems like an awesome way to see the country.
Hi Heather! I stumbled across your blog and had to laugh at the "Love Jesus" part! We live in Virginia beach and people are the same way here! We will have people just roll there windows down and yell out "Has anyone told you today that Jesus loves you!" It is great. All the license plates are also personalized to show their love. Our favorite is "Hot 4 God"
