Jed and I have had our FIRST Saturday with NOTHING to do in so long that I demanded that we leave the apartment. (That made it sound like I've been mad at Jed for keeping us cooped up in the apartment...I've actually been mad at Mother Nature for not allowing us to leave due to extreme weather conditions...ie. it's freezing cold)
We had a lazy Saturday morning (Jed instructed me to start enjoying the "lounging luxury") then we looked outside saw blue skies and birds singing, so we quickly grabbed the camera and were out the door.
Well, the blue skies and birds singing were a little (ok, a lot) deceiving. It was SOOOO cold! We didn't wear our usual gear (hat, gloves, scarves, long underwear, uggs, etc.) We are both so ready for nice weather that we thought it would be a good idea to just wear our jackets. We were kicking ourselves about 5 steps out the door, but thinking of walking back up the 4 flights of stairs too get the said gear was a little too daunting, so we forged ahead.
We did a little shopping (gots to look good for my new job!!!), hunted (then found) an adorable shirt (3 H&M's later), wandered around SoHo, then tried a new place to eat called S'Mac...a mac and cheese ONLY establishment. My husband was in heaven!
Let's talk about S'Mac. I like mac and cheese. Although it doesn't seem like it, I usually eat pretty light meals. Needless to say the Cajun mac and cheese I got (loaded with 3 different cheeses, sausage, veggies, seasonings) was good but I felt as if I had eaten a whole cow. I was SOOO full. The train ride home found me WILLING myself not to throw up. However, this being said, it was a really fun place to eat. Jed got a fire infused buffalo chicken mac and cheese. I thought I would have to douse him with my water to settle the flames, but he took it like a man.
We were so glad to come home to our warm apartment. And, I can feel Spring ready to pounce on us any minute, which means more fun Saturday exploring.
(Enjoy this picture that Jed took as I was slaving away in the dressing rooms)
